So if you haven't read Jennie's Blog ( Click Here ), you should. She gave a wonderful and often forgotten view of Memorial Day. She even went back through the years and named some of our family members who have served and are serving. I could get on my soap box about what should be remembered on this day but instead I will continue to properly honor those who have served by continuing to fight for those beliefs that they gave their lives for.So Steve and I decided to go to the Veterans Cemetery to pay our respects then we went to the Museum here at Ft. Campbell. It was fun to learn the history of Ft. Campbell and the 101st Airborne Division. We had a great time looking at the exhibits and finally going out to look at the planes and helicopters. I had a fun taking pictures including the one up top of the flag in front of the Division headquarters.
Steve's favorite was the "warthog."
My favorite was the UH-1 Cobra. In my picture I'm trying to Grrr like the helicopter but I look kinda scrunchie faced. Steve wanted a picture too... Next to the gun turret it says "Warning gun will fire if rotated by hand." Hehe
Steve's absolutest most favorite at the exhibit was what I termed the Heliplane or the Planicopter. It was called Cheyenne something or other and was the fastest heliopter because of it's plane/helicopter design.
