Oldies but Goodies

Why does the AMC channel play newer movies and sci-fi? What happened to the Movie Classic part? I miss the good ole' black and whites and movies from the 40's, 50's and 60's. When I used to sit down and what movies with my family, my Dad would often turn to this channel first. If you don't have satellite you're kinda limited on your choices for the oldies. Gone are the days of the grand epics and memorable actors/actresses. Yes I am aware of TMC and they do have a good selection... but maybe "Classic" is not the correct word to use when the majority of the movies are from the 80's and newer. Now, I'm all about some 80's movies, 90's are great as well! But gosh darn it! I do miss movies like Gone with Wind, Breakfast At Tiffany's, North by Northwest... I'm sure you see the trend. Sigh... Down I step from my soapbox.

Try TCM (TMC is another channel!). The Turner Classic Movie channel plays all the good OLD stuff! I think the oldest movie date I've seen on there was 1967. Good stuff!!

I know what ya mean, todays movies are all about sex, special effects and big names in them. Don't get me wrong, I do love the LOTR and POTC movies (LOL, can you figure out what those are?) but how much bigger can we get in movies?

Kim- I think I was meaning the Turner Classic Movie channel... I've seen some super old stuff on there! When the films had no sound... The super old Wizard of Oz from like the 30's. Good Stuff.
