Putting on the Fat Pants

So Steve and I just got back from our little road trip from his brother's house for Thanksgiving. It was pretty cool. I love road trips. It took about 8 hours to get there though. On the way down I slept most of the way. I kept just dozing off randomly while I was reading... it was crazy. We left around 0300 our time and got to Ft. Bragg around 1300. We did stop at a this rest stop that had a pretty overlook and took a few pictures. It was pretty chilly!

I chowed down on as much wheat-free goodness as I could. I tried to sneak a spoonful of the stuffing; trying all the while to ignore the memories of the inevitable stomach pains that would plague me later on, but Steve caught me. So I stuck to heapfuls of turkey, mashed potatoes, acorn squash (plenty of that for me; I've noticed a trend in the south away from healthy food), a cranberry concoction and deviled eggs. Yum. I had a nice conversation with Rebecca's (Steve's sister-in-law)mother and father. But after that I was kinda left to myself. Which is kinda normal I guess for a new person to a family. Everyone is getting caught up on the the years happenings and of course reminiscing so I kind of sat on the couch and smiled. I wanted Steve to have plenty of his time with his brother, whom I know he misses alot. I did miss being home but I'll see everyone for Christmas and they'll get to meet Steve so I'm super excited!

Steve with his niece Olivia.

Olivia is a cutie-patootie. She is a few weeks older than Riley, my nephew. All in all I had a pretty good time.. Too bad we had to leave the next day, supposedly a storm was coming so we had to hurry home. But we might get snow! So hopefully more pictures to come!!

We missed you! But it sounds like you had a nice time getting to know Steve's fam. Believe me, the more holidays you spend with your SO's family, the more comfortable you get. Can't wait to see you for Christmas!

Ha. nice title. Like you would EVER have to wear fat pants. Especially with the whole gluten thing. Which by the way, I think I might want to try a gluten free diet. See if it helps anything. Any advice on where to find good info online?

don't mind my sister. She doesn't get out much. I for one love the creativity of your profile. I myself do not have it in me to be so free about my eccentricities. At least in my profile. Hope the evil kitty doesn't attack you today!
